For you folks in my 'hood and surrounds.

After dropping ole Toad off at Hank's place for rear drive diagnosis, Monte and I stopped in at the new MotoLiberty store on north San Pedro/281. Had a nice chat with the owner (Nathan) who lives up in Bulverde with wifey and coupla kids. Real nice feller. Nice display of the stuff they carry, and a well rounded inventory of ATGATT stuff, including helmets and put-ons.

I noticed an Olympia one piece that may be in my future. Got some pluses and got some minuses, butt I can deal with 'em. Around 300 bones; some mesh panels; double hung zippers; and several security pockets.

Both of us tried on a V-Mar (sp?) helmet. ECE approved flip, with internal, drop down sunvisor. Well built, with good features like liner removal for washing, etc., good ventilation, and easy on/off. However, for Monte, the chin piece in the closed position left his chin below the chinpiece rim - not good. For me, wuz just like the Caberg that I lusted after last year - chin piece smacks my chin. Darn.

Anyway, if you haven't been by, make plans to drop in. This is Nathan's shop, as a franchise owner, and say hi. But don't touch that XL Olympia one-piece, with the high-viz yellow refectors!!!

Man, one thang about Smootini - ain't gonna be anybody on the planet wearing more high-viz yellow than him!!! And up against that navy blue GT, you can spot him miles down the road!!

And hey, I just remembered - if you're looking for any luggage items, Nathan is caring some River Road gear. Liners, tail bags, etc. etc.

I've heard their San Antonio store is almost as well stocked as their Dallas store. Motoliberty is about the only gear shop in Texas that bumps Lone Star off the top pedestal. :thumb:

My question is "when is the Houston store opening?"

Hey, Dave. Nathan said his store doesn't match size and inventory with the Dallas store, butt he's gonna work on it!! It's a pretty small storefront and from what I saw, he's gonna have to remodel to add room if he gets more inventory like he wants. All in all tho, a well worth it visit.

The Dallas store 'may' rival Lone Star, but Nathan's doesn't --- yet. Mainly cuz he doesn't have the square footage. BTW - my bad in not giving him a bidness card with the forums web url on it. We chatted a bit about that, butt I think he thought Monte and I were members of the San Antonio BMW club. He did mention that he's received a coupla suggestions about having some group discounts, and is thinking on it!
