I was thinking I ought to replace my rear tire with a new Metz 880 before it's price went up from $179 when I checked it a few weeks ago.

Too late. Its now $198 at SWmototires, my local dealer.

I'm still going to replace it, before the next price increase?!

Yup, I've got a set sitting in standby for CCR that cost me $321.00 with shipping (AMT). Didn't need them until late August but figured they are only going up!

Smart guy, John. I had my rear replaced at the CCR local dealer last year and they charged me $325 fitted . Won't make that mistake again.

German tire. Weak Dollar. We're hosed!

I got mine from SW Moto about 5 weeks ago for $198, plus shipping ($12.00). If you do order two tires, you get free shipping, but I had no need for a front.

I had a front replaced last month at the Chandler dealer. I removed the wheel and took it in. $140 tire, mounting and balancing. Every time I have gone to the local dealer they have beat anyone else.

I buy my tires at Motorcycleproshop.com.

Check it out, $147 for a ME880 rear.

http://www.motorcycleproshop.com/detail.asp?product_id=110-11943

Shipping is $9 per tire, delivery is just a few days. Got mine in 3 days last time.

I run Avons and the price has only changed $5 per tire since July. I bought a rear in January and it is still listed today at the same price of $119.

IMHO $50 more at SW moto is a bit much

That's a great price, if its the same tire.

But, for me, I ride over to Blaine's, into his garage, take off my tire, and he mounts and balances the new one.

********WRONG TIRE***********

Thats the radial version of the ME880.

Someone had a dealer put this tire on by accident and it rubbed the swingarm.

The link above shows a ME880 170/60vr17 tire. That is a radial and is not rated for the LT. You want the 170/60vb17 which is a bias tire and rated appropriately for our bikes.

Be careful!

Bummer, they don't list the vb in that size.

I'll stick with the Avons, yeah the front can wear funny on some of them. But, they sure do grip and I don't miss the growl from the 880's, not one bit. :D

I just bought a rear Metz from Donelson Cycle, $212 included shipping. I usually prefer SWMoto but they charge shipping on one tire, and with AZ sales tax would have been about $225. I had to call to get the correct tire for the LT, as our load-rated, bias tire isn't on the web site. Ordered on Thursday, received on Monday.

The weather gods her in Phoenix are smiling, and for a couple of days the 110 temps are gone and the HIGH for tomorrow is only forecast to be 73.
