Hey, David - just talked with Bruce. They made it home fine. Got a new metal valve stem for the rear tire; some eats in New Waverly, which included PIE for Gina; and a slab ride home to arrive about 8:00PM. Still had a good day, even with the leaking tire. He'll prolly be on here later this evening.

I was thinking I saw Bruce and the Pie Princess yesterday evening NB on I-45.

Yep, probably was us. We took the quick way home up 45 after a thrilling day in po-dunk Buffalo, TX.

The caused of the problem was the schrader valve came loose from the valve stem, deflating the tire.

You would think that a small town would be more friendly. A bunch of people stopped by to take a look and determined "yep it's a flat tire alright". None were willing to help out. We stayed around the little store until around 1 pm when one of the workers there got off work and took me and the wheel about 20 miles away to get fixed. A very special "Thanks" to Pops for his assistance.

By the time we got back, had the tire on the bike and back on the road it was almost 2 pm. We decided to ride down to New Waverly get something to eat and have some PIE so the Princess would not miss out.

By the time we were finished it was almost 5 pm so instead of going home the back way as was planned, we decided to slab it so we could be home just about dark.

All in all it was still a good day for riding. Sorry we missed the group in Montgomery, but life does through you curves every once in a while.

Well...at least I can get my rear tire off without having to carry around a jack...:p

Yeah, maybe but you did notice that the Harley had air in BOTH tires! :eek:
