Tear down help

The plastic on my bike is making all kinds of noise. I'd like to take it off, install some type of dampening and put it back together. I've never done this before so I'd like the watchful eye of someone who knows what they're doing. I'd be willing to bring however many donuts are needed to fund such oversight.

Anyone doing a tear down in the next few weeks?

I'm in the North Atlanta area but will travel.

I've taken my LT down to "naked" several times and would be willing to lend a hand, however we're on opposite ends of the state.

If you don't mind a ride to Tampa, straight down I-75, I'd be more than willing to help. Takes about 30 minutes to disassemble. Getting it apart is the easy part. Getting it back together is the difficult part! Naaaaa, just kidding. It really isn't hard and if you do it slowly and keep the screws from disappearing, you won't have a problem. Seriously, it isn't hard and there is lots of info on this site telling where the hidden screws lurk. Most likely, the creaks are from age..... If you get stuck, just call of ask the question on this site.

Hey Greg, Long time no hear. Give me tomorrow and let me see what the Missus has up for the weekend since it is our anniversary. Maybe we could do something about your rattle on Saturday.

One of the major causes of rattles is the junction between the underpans and the fairing sides at the front. BMW puts a little rubber piece in there and if it gets dislodged or missing, the rattle can be quite annoying. May want to peek in there and see if that is the source. Put a piece of weather stripping or something in there to stop the rattle.

I've been thinking that's where the noise is coming from. I don't think rubber washers will work because the noise is probably coming from the entire length of where the plastic comes together.

I wonder if I could put a silicone bead down that seam?

My sincere thanks for Steve stopping by and helping (alright he actually did all the work) me suppress the fairing noise.
