Has anyone made a purchase on ebay from the "motorcycleownersclubstore?" They have a set of PIAA 1100X lights for sale for just under $300 which appears to be a decent price compared to most places that are $330 or so.

Their ebay "buy it now" price is $298.45, but their ad encouraged "making an offer" and suggested a discount for those how were members of a "motorcycle owners club." I figured BMWMOA counted so I made an offer 15% or so lower than their buy it now price. They countered with a price that was all of 3 cents lower than their "buy it now" price! 3 cents!! That was pretty funny.

Unless I can save at least 20% I generally don't take the risk of buying from ebay as I'd rather buy from the local dealer or a well-known mail order place such as Bike Bandit than assume the risks associated with ebay. I am curious though if anyone here has purchased from this seller.

I might be wrong but I think they use to have them listed at 249.00. I would use that as an offer and see what happens.

This is very close to what I offered. I took $250 and subtracted the shipping cost and offered them $241.50. When they came back with a counter offer than was only 3 cents less than their $298.45 buy it now price, it was clear that they really are misleading in their advertising about discounts for owner's club members. I don't consider $298.42 to be a meaningful discount from $298.45, but maybe my expectations are too high! :bmw:

You might want to try one of our own 'Supporting Vendors' here on the bmwlt.net!!!

Ezy-mount's (http://www.ezymount.com/kits/ezymount_k1200lt.htm) owner runs a great shop. Has the best mounts for PIAA1100s and helps support this site.

No crazy dealings with an unknown seller.

No affiliation...just a happy customer with a lot of miles on an LT with his brackets and 1100s. :)

Certainly. I'm not familiar with all of the supporting vendors. Is there a list here somewhere? I just checked the link you provided above and see only light mounts for sale, not the lights and kit themselves. Is there a supporting vendor that sells the complete PIAA package for a 1200LT?

Yup, on the HOMEPAGE...Just under the Welcome section!

Just scroll down. :D

Those little ads /business cards are HOT buttons. Take some time and look through them. We have some great resources right here. Sure you can go to ebay, or others, but our Vendors really do have a lot to offer and they know our bikes.

Just my $0.02.

Granted, no buxom blondes to help you but $40 buys more toys! Hell, it may even buy you a full tank of gas!:p

Thanks. I have my shortcut set to go right to the forums index and haven't looked at the home page in I can't remember when. Now I have some serious browsing to do!
