k1200lt tire pressures

Hi there just bought a 2003 LT, I just switched from a Harley FatBoy!!
Wondering what is the best pressure for tires, I hear they wear off very easy.

42PSI/front
49PSI/rear

Yeah, that seems high, but also seems to get best mileage/handling.

When all else fails, use the pressure on the sides of the tires... thats what the tire engineers say is ok...
