Well... I have been in turmoil lately as to whether let the LT go on to another home and move to another bike. A lot of my friends have gone to the KLR 650 and two more are currently contemplating buying one, The KLR seems to be suited a little more for what I could do out here in the Southwest.

Added to that, I spoke to the guy I bought the bike from a month or so ago, and he mentioned that he missed the fat pig and was going to sell his new bike to buy another LT.

I called him yesterday to see if he was interested in getting the big girl back. Said he had a couple of guys interested in his new bike, was interested and would get back to me on buying the LT back.

It was very clean and well kept when I bought it, I have only put about 3K miles on it since I bought it, and through what I have learned through this forum, it is in better condition than when I got it.

My wife loves riding on the LT, but agrees that we could get a KLR and a Yamaha TW200 for her, if we set the fat pig free.

It's not a done deal yet, but....it's really looking like the direction to go for me. Keeping her and getting a KLR isn't an option since my wife also wants the TW. Having two dual sports will give us the opportunity to ride together, or just ride two up on the KLR around town.

Ohhh..the joys of grown up decision making...... :(

Anyone else interested in a 2000 LTC with 14,890 miles, garage kept, beautiful condition and NO metal shavings ( http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33843 in the FD oil I changed a month ago ?

Have you considered the R1200GS or GSA? Might be a balance. Dual sport but bigger and more suited to 2 up than the KLR.

Wow, thats quite a change from the LT. I own a 06 KLR and a 03 LTE. I originally bought an 04 GSA Adventure for me and a Factory lowered 650 BMW for my wife. Put her through the riding school and she did great. She had three wheeler and four wheeler experience but no two wheel. Anyway she put a whopping 200 miles on the bike. Finally admited to me that she would never feel comfortable enough on the bike in traffic. Man did I take a bath getting rid of that one. Didnt buy the GSA for two up so sold it and bought the LTE. GSA was great for fire road stuff but a handful on rough terrain,Just too heavy. Still wanted my dualsport and went with the KLR. I love that bike! So nimble and light a joy to ride. But anything over about 20 miles and I jump on my baby. Anyway to very different machines, glad I dont have to make the choice. Best of luck, sorry about being so windy.
