Here's the official notice from the dealership, looks like the party starts at 4pm on Saturday the 7th.

"First of all I would like to introduce myself, I am Mark Crist. I am the new Sales Manager for the new BMW store in Indy and I would like all of the bmw riders to know when our grand opening will be. As I get used to your site I'm sure I will be able to figure out how to post but in the mean time I knew you might be able to pass this message on. We are officially open now and have about 38 bikes in stock, less the (3) R1200GS's that sold today. We have parts in place and the New Service Dept is open as well as accessories in stock and set up. We are having our Grand Opening on June 7th from 4pm to 7pm. We will have food, sodas and music and door prizes. It has been a long time coming for BMW to be back in Indy and we will do our best to live up to the expedations of the BMW rider and have high hopes that our new dealership with become not only a great dealer for you but a place that you can call home.

Thank you all, hope to see you soon... Mark Crist"

Name was Indy Victory & Polaris, I'm guessing you add three consonants in there somewhere now. Phone - (317) 803-2432
Address is 2416 W 16th St, Indianapolis, just straight east of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway a few blocks. From I-465 take the Crawfordsville Rd exit and it will merge with 16th at the speedway. Continue east and it will be on your left just before you cross the river.

As for the late hours... that's when most of us in Indy start waking up!

Thank you very muchly....

You would think that the sales manager would include that info whenever talking about the shop. I wish them well. Hope to make it there.

Good point though, if you guys want to come down earlier to have some daylight to ride back in maybe we could organize a lunchtime RTE on the north side of Indy?

Since this seems to be the official thread, where would the Laf-area riders like to meet? The mall? Meijer?
The parking lot to Action Motorsports? :histerica

I stopped into Indy BMW today enroute to Madison, IN for a Michiana BMW Club spring ride. Nice looking shop! Attached a few photos below.

The Open House indeed is from 4-7 p.m., but the store is open it's usual Saturday hours. So, an earlier meet-up at the dealer is certainly possible. They just don't begin the food and festivities until 4 p.m.

I'm planning on arriving early in the afternoon, to meet/greet/kick tires/spend money, etc. then probable head back north by about 5 p.m. That will still get me home by dark thanks to Indiana's daylight savings time.

I met sales manager Mark Crist, who graciously gave me a tour of the facilities. The staff is really wanting to satisfy their customers and is learning a lot from riders that stop by and reading forums such as ours!

I certainly wish them well. Hope to see as many of you as possible on the 7th! As noted elsewhere...the new shop is at 2416 West 16th St. Indianapolis. Phone: 317-803-2432.

I told my wife about the open house and she suggested to me that since we would be in Indy and the open house is later in the day, why not hit the zoo first in the morning.

So, I think we are going to do that, leaving from Kokomo at some point in the morning, going to the zoo, and then meeting up at BMW at 4. Any interest in joining us? We actually live west of Kokomo (Russiaville), so we could either start in Kokomo, or meet up somewhere west if some of the Lafayette people wanted to join in.

Here's a copy of the BMW Motorcycles of Indianapolis official invitation for the Open House this Saturday.

Have we settled on a meeting location/time?

The shop has normal hours this Saturday before the open house, so I'm planning on arriving at the dealership around 2 p.m. I'll stay long enough for the 4 p.m. open house festivities to begin, but need to be back on the road by 5 p.m. to get home for an evening engagement.

Hope to see you folks there!

You foks have a good time this Saturday. We can't make it, as we are on our way to South Dakota. We did stop by BMW Indy earlier today (just before they closed) to pick up a couple of things. GM Mark Crist and his Parts staff were beyond helpful, even going into their inventory that had been received but not put out on the display rack so we could get the Gerbing cables we needed. With this attitude they will go far. Good for all you Hoosiers!

Have a hot dog on me on Saturday!

As long as Paul doesn't bring Reggie along ya'll might have a chance at some of the door prizes. If Reggie comes along just plan on helping Paul strap all the prizes to his LT. :D

Well, Matt...not much chance on her coming along! Been awhile since we've talked. Let's do it over a beer soon!

Life goes on,

As I had guessed would happen, I've been sucked out of town this weekend so I'll miss all the hoopla in Speedway. Wish I could be there to put faces with names, but it's not to be.

Everybody ride safe and have fun. Picked my LT up from there today after they did a valve adjustment and Jeff and Bob in Service did a great job. It's great to have them around!!!

So, for the Lafayette area members:
Where and when would you like to meet? :)

Because of the weather, we opted not to go to the zoo. Not sure what the afternoon has in store for us. I don't mind riding in rain, but I'll pass on severe weather. If the Lafayette group decides to get together this afternoon, give me a call and maybe we'll join in. 765-883-5616.

Well, crap!

Made it as far as Kokomo early this afternoon and ran into a dark wall of rain storm. Lightining was flashing and the winds were picking up. So, I called a buddy of mine I knew to be driving north from Indy that afternoon. It had rained hard all morning in Indy with no immediate relief in sight. Storms were in the forecast for the rest of the day.

We stopped at an IHOP for coffee and to think about our day. By the time we left there it was raining hard, so we cut our losses and headed back north.

Sorry to have missed the open house! I was looking forward to seeing you guys. I did end up riding a couple hundred miles round trip for a breakfast at IHOP, so I guess the day wasn't a total bust. Just got back to South Bend and the sun is out...so I guess I'll have to mow my yard! :(

Mark, I'll be sure to stop in when I'm in the area again. It was nice meeting you a few weeks ago.

The weather was unreal yesterday, we had 8 inches of rain overnight at our house! Had I been coming from the North or East I would have turned back as well. Fortunately, the storms did move out around 2pm and it cleared enough that we decided to stop by the open house to have a look around. There was a great turn-out considering the weather, and everyone seemed very enthusiastic about having a new dealership in town. Of course there was good music, good food and free stuff so why wouldn't they?

Sorry you missed it! I've attached some photos for those who couldn't be there.

Thanks for the update, k-daug...sounds like if we'd pushed ahead, the rains may have been subsiding by about the time we were to arrive...if we hadn't of drowned by then!

Oh well...another day.

Any other bmwlt.com list members make it?

I'm not sure, I looked around for them but I've so far been unable to meet with any members personally.

Time to chime in, were any of you there? ...and what was your excuse if you didn't make it? <grin>:)

I was there, but was 24 hours early! Had to pick up the bike, get it home, and catch a flight out of town (to someplace above water!). Hope everybody's dry.

If anybody heads down there, give me a shout. Work is just a couple blocks away and I'd be happy to run over for a meet-n-greet or catch a burger and rootbeer with you at Mug n Bun.

mmmmmmm...Mug n Bun. I love that place. I owe you a lunch anyway.

My bike is in for the 6K service. When I pick it up I'll give you a call.

Great Open House! Food was good and some great music.

Thanks to Falcone Powersports!

Altough I never made it out of my office all day and did not get the chance to mingle, I just wanted to thank all of you for the great turn out and I hope everyone had a great time and enjoyed seeing our new facility. Again thanks for the turn out and hope to see you all soon.
