The rider displayed excellent presence of mind; once he realized the bike hasn't crashed and he's OK, sure -- let's get back on!

Shows you how tight his steering damper was! Just held the bike upright to almost a crawl. Neat video.

Alright, looks like a staged shot to me. Why'd he fall off in the first place?

Pay attention to lower right of screen: at about 19s marker, one of the other riders is crashing in the infield, showering sparks. Must have gotten distracted...

After viewing it again... I AGREE. Sure were some slow riders too!

"intersting" to say the least. :D Looks about as real as some of Night Rider's stunts.

IF I fall off my bike I hope it stays up for me. All I have to do is run to catch it.

My family joined me and we looked at it several times, trying to figure out WHY the rider fell off. Was it accidental or deliberate? If accidental, then what was the reason? At first, I thought that perhaps his knee snagged the pavement, but it really looks like he let go with his left hand first. Still, it is risky to bail out.

Also, why would he risk damaging his bike and equipment? I saw no scratches on his bike, or his riding suit, or his helmet. If it was deliberate, then he was willing to risk scratching up all that nice stuff, too.

There is no way to know for sure.

The thing that puts me in the "deliberate" camp is the "coincidence" that he just happened to have a rear-facing camera running at the same time. What are the chances of having a perfectly positioned, rear-facing camera, actively recording, at the same time as that freak "accident"?

Wow wish my LT stood up by itself. ;)My GT did, right after I put 2,600 interstate miles on it in 47 hours. Both tires were extremely flat-spotted to say the least. :)

What are the chances of having a perfectly positioned, rear-facing camera, actively recording, at the same time as that freak "accident"?But that's false logic. It's not that all these random events just happened to coincide in this amazing video, but more that of all the bikes using video cameras, this one just happened to catch something interesting. And because it is rather amazing, it then got posted all over the 'net and passed around tens of thousands of email addresses. The thousand other boring videos simply got erased so you just never saw them.

It's the whole cause and effect argument. Kinda like saying that the world is incredible and beautiful so that it must have been consciously created . . . oops, sorry, wrong thread. ;)

I'm serious. The bike practically did stand up on its own. :)

But I have to say that I'm disappointed, Joe. You completely missed the poke at creationism. :D

We sure did miss you in Cambria.
