I'm looking to replace the OEM windscreen on my R1150GS. Want something that will offer improved wind, bug, and weather protection. Airflow looks good but is pretty pricey. Wondering if anyone out there has any experience with the Ztechnik? Likes/dislikes?

Hi, I own an 1150 GS Adventure.
I just received a new AeroFlow and am about to install. Currently using Cee Bailys 4+4. It is much better than the stock one, but I am looking for max protection.

Once I get the AeroFlow on, I may be willing to part with the CeeBee.

Lynn,
I had the Aeroflow on my 1150 and it's probably the most protection you can get with out going back to an LT. Air flow is pretty clean and protection is very good. Mine also had a spot to mount lights on it.

Appreciate the feedback. I'm sure the aeroflow is great but I think not exactly what I'm looking for. Living in Florida, one of the many things that I like about the GS vs the LT is the additional air flow available when the weather turns hot. Unfortunately that advantage is also a disadvantage when it comes to wind noise and buffeting. So what I'm looking for is something a little taller that might reduce air flow around the helmet but still allow more air on the torso than is available with the LT. I had a Cee Baily on the Lt ( I know it's a different animal) and was not impressed with it so was looking at other alternatives.

I am looking for a new windshield for my 1100 GS..
I have been in contact with Eagle Screens Australia.[eaglescreens@eftel.com.au]
They have sent me some info.. It looks like what I want also, but I have not sent them the $$ yet.
It seems we are sort of in the same situation. I'm 6'5" and when I'm on the GS at highway speeds, I really feel the wind with the stock windshield. It gets pretty hot here in MO too. So I am looking for something to protect my helmet from the wind, but still want some air..
They have screens that appear taller, but not a lot wider..

Hey Jeff, sounds interesting but their WEB site doesn't offer much info. At least not that I could find. do you know where I can find some pictures or other info? Also wonder about shipping cost? I once bought a shield for my LT from New Zealand. The product was wonderful and reasonably priced but the shipping nearly doubled the cost!

Sent you a PM.. I can forward you the e-mail they sent me. It has pricing, pics, and freight etc.. All the pricing was Austrailian, not sure how it would convert.

Lynn, I have the Ztechnic installed on my '04 GS and am very happy with it. I am 6'3" and it allows me to to "look over" easily while keeping the wind blast off of my face. Unlike some of the "wide body" shields out there, this narrow waisted screen lets enough air onto my shoulders to keep things cool in the summer - VERY different from my LT.

Thanks for the feedback dznam. I thought that might be the case but it's nice to have confirmation from someone with first hand experience.

Have you looked at CalSci windscreens? I do not know if they have a screen for the GS, but their screens had a cut out near the bottom that allowed more air in and still kept the air off of the face.

I tried one for my RT, however, I did not care for it and went back to my Cee Baileys.

Good luck in your search.

I just installed the AeroFlow and wow, my GS is a new, different bike.
Rode it for four 10 hour days and really love it. Not getting beat up by the wind anymore, but still have plenty of air circulation.

my new to me GS has a CeeBailey screen. I cant compare it t stock. It does a good job up until strong winds or 70mph or so. It wasnt the greatest coming across the salt flats. I may switch to an areoflow for the winter sometime. Yoo many items on my wishlist to to put that at a priority.
