I am on my way home from Washington back to Texas and today I cut through Utah and rode past the resort. All I can say is WOW!!!!!
The views in the area are incredible. I rode Hwy 6 on down to Green River and that is a must ride when you come, go, or while you are here. Runs between SLC and Green River (I-70).
Warning: Gas up in Fruita, CO if coming west because there are no gas stations between there and Green River. I almost made it to Fruita. Used AAA this time and they brought me gas within 30 min of my call. My GPS showed lots of small towns along I-70 between Green River and Colorado, but none of them have any services. First time in my life I ran out of gas.

Jerry,
You should have called me. There's even a better route from Zermatt to I-70. Utah Highway 35 takes you from Francis to Duchesne, where you can take a couple options to get to I-70. Given the ZERO traffic on HWY 35, you could have avoided the sometimes heavy traffic on US 6. Getting HWY 35 on your GPS is kind of a challenge, since most the mapping software shows HWY 35 as a dirt road. We rode it last summer and it is a wonderful alternative to US 6.
And yes, there is no gas between Fruitia and Green River -- 87 miles. If you are heading that direction on your way to CCR, best to gas up in Grand Junction, CO (better choices and probably price than in Fruitia). On the way back, you can fill up in Price or Green River. The distance between Price and Grand Junction is just under 200 miles.
Here is the description of the route...
Francis to Duchesne Ride - Only 10 minutes from the Zermatt Resort and Spa. While not recognized as a scenic byway, and listed on many mapping software and GPS maps as an unpaved road, this ride along UT 35 provides a scenic back route to Duchesne with little or no traffic. Don't miss the Hanna Cafe between Hanna and Tabiona on UT Hwy 35 (and get your "Where the Hell is Hanna" t-shirt).

Jeff,
I trusted my GPS. Guess you will just have to lead me to it in August and prove it's better. ;) :D

I think Dan is on to something: Jerry and tools. Just a combination that don't work. But then again, *I* should speak out all too loud.

BTW directly to the East (right) you can see a crater. It is a neat visit, just across the street.

Ok you Bored of Directors, I know there was some discussion in the recent past regarding the "Resort Fee", has that issue been resolved (removed)?
If not, how much is the fee?
