Which one?

The K1200R is still in the stable. The 2001 Ducati 900SS was sold at a good profit. The new one replaces it.

Some info on the new one:

It's a 1997 Ducati Monster M900. However, it is extensively modified and farkelized. I have the original list of parts that the dealer installed/replaced at the dealership. The list is four pages long. All panels are carbon fibre including the tank. Custom paint to match a 1973 Ducati 750 Sport.

Anyway, it's one of these custom jobs that you end up buying for a song. This particular bike took second place at the Ducati Monster Challenge in San Jose. First place goes to Daytona to compete against other regional first place finishers.

Attached more pictures. Last picture is of a 1973 Ducati 750 Sport.

That last picture appears to be a different bike from the first three.

The last pic is a 1973 Ducati 750 Sport. The one I bought is inspired by it and the paint color is the same along with the stripes etc. The project was to do a modern retro bike to look like the '73.

The customer who ordered it never picked it up and it has been in the possession of the dealer who built it for the customer since then. Bike has a mere 1565 miles on it and still has extended warranty till April 2006.

I fired it up this morning. It's not what we are used to with Remus exhaust systems at idle. I think It will be a bit louder at higher revs. No ride report yet.

Just love the size of those front disk's. Any room there for a wheel or do they just mount the tire on the rotors to save weight? :-)

LOL.

Ducatis have great front brakes. I think they are 320 mm disks. One nice addition/modification on the bike is they used the front forks/suspension from the 916 superbike. Rear has Ohlins with remote just like the LT.

I just need to setup the front for my weight.
