I read some prior threads on this subject but I'm still confused so here goes.

A co-worker has an older (thicker) V-1 which has the latest updates installed. He wants about $125 for it, which seems like a good price but I have learned that it is the peripherals that make "farkeling" expensive.

I have a BMR shelf so I know I need an accessory arm to mount it.

If I read the Valentine website correctly, the unit itself does not have an audio jack but I can buy a remote audio access box that connects and provides a volume knob and an output jack.

Can you do away with the remote box with a cord? You'd lose the extra volume knob but if the V-1 is in reach, do you need the other volume control?

There were some posts about an adaptor available from J&M but I can't tell whether it would work with the Autocom.

My Autocom only has one priority port so I guess I'll have to get some sort of splitter so the phone and the radar detector can share it.

You are going to need the remote audio box if you want any sound out of it. Autocom does make a splitter and its not as cheap as it should be but works well.

Take a look at these. You will need the "second" V1 box to connect to the Autocom. The first picture is the wiring diagram, with the other pictures being cable 172 and the T-lead.
