my 2004 klt has a " rattle " when turning, more noticable when turning right, then left. i can also feel this vibration when leaning into turns. the bike was purchased used with 8k miles, nothing appears to be loose, or otherwise out of place. any suggestions?

The LT rattle is only heard at idle and is a characteristic of the engine and gears that feed the transmission and alternator.

Most likey what you are feeling is feathered tires in the turns. Run your hand over the tread and see if you don't feel some "scallops" in the rubber. This will always show up as the tires wear but you can delay its appearance by using 42 front and 48 rear for pressures.

thank you , john. i think you're correct about the tires, there is a slight cupping ( scalloping ), and i now realize that the two " noises " i have described are most likely un-related. the rattle i hear while turning is only at low speed and only when turning, i dont hear it sitting still. thats why i'm kinda perplexed. could it be brake or caliper noise if i'm NOT applying the brakes? thanks again !!!
p.s. to this site : i love it, and glad i stumbled onto it !!!

maybe a rear brake rotor starting to rattle give it a check, make sure it is cold
