Tire prices!!

I haven't bought a rear ME880 for a while, I bought a spare wheel with an almost new one mounted two years ago and won a new one from Gina's at the Iowa Rally before that.

I was shopping the web today and the best price I saw was $179 at sporttour.com. Most were $195 and up. I remember when they were $111 at Americanmototire.com. What hapened?? I know, oil prices and such but that's a big increase in a couple of years.

Any better prices out there??

I looked for a LONG time, but, gave up.

Left the Metzelers and went to Bridgestone BT-020.

Front and Rear shipped to NC was $229.36.

Haven't put them on yet, but maybe another 2-3K and I'll need to do it.

Also considered the Avons, but, found the B-Stones a little cheaper and I'm not sold on the Avons (yet).

Thats the same problem I saw. When I can get 2 for that price, I'm ready to try Brigestones ! !

I had no idea the Bridgestones were that much less expensive.

My ME880 front only has about 5k on it, is there any problem running the BT020 bias rear with the ME880 front? I usually don't mix tires but since they are both bias ply is should be ok.

Just had a set of BT020s delivered at a price of $235 from Southwest Moto Tire, put them on yesterday.

I think that is the major part why so much more exspencive.

I also heard that the Metzlers is the RollS Royce of tyres as we say, you may say Caddilac :)
