A day after my first big ride of season (last Wed.), here in Minnesota, I was working on some countertop laminate and deeply cut my right hand middle finger - icluding the tendon and a nerve. After a 2.5 hour hand surgery, things are on the mend. I see the Surgeon on Tues to see how long it will be before I can use my right hand.
I bought Tires for my son's and my bike. Got the tires at RonAyers. Pretty slow in arriving, but good prices. Can't use my hand anyway. Got the Harbor Freight tire changer, NoMar bars. I friend and I almost have the lift table built (will post pictures when done). He had almost all the steel, so I had to spend a couple hundred for misc stuff. Will be nice not to have to lay on the floor to work.
Looking forward to riding again.

Dang, Jim, that's tough to hear. I hope the finger heals well and you get normal use of it in the end. Good luck in rehab.

Jim,
You and the weathermen can't fool me. Spring isn't coming to us until mid-may. I hope the hand heals fast. You'll be glad you have cruise until you are fully cured.

A day after my first big ride of season (last Wed.), here in Minnesota, I was working on some countertop laminate and deeply cut my right hand middle finger - icluding the tendon and a nerve. After a 2.5 hour hand surgery, things are on the mend. I see the Surgeon on Tues to see how long it will be before I can use my right hand.I cut my right index finger off (dangling by a piece of skin), well, kinda of cut and crushed it off. Since I was self employed I hopped off the recovery room table, paid the bill, walked out the door of the horsepistol and went back to work. The cast covered all the fingers of my right hand so I cut it off so I could use the last three fingers and thumb. I cut the whole thing off a month later and pulled the stitches. A few days later I caught the finger twixt some board and ripped the tendon loose. The tip doesn't move now, though I can still pull a trigger, the finger is kind of shrivelled.
There were four pins holding bone together. I had a kid working for me with piercings all over him. One day I bumped the finger and a pin popped out of the skin. I grabbed my Leatherman and yanked it out. He threw up.
The moral of the story? I don't know.

BTW - Jim, hope your recovery goes smooth and you end up as good as before!! Best.
