I will become an official member of the LT club this May 10th. Currently ride R1150RT and buying the LT at the request of the wife (keeping the RT too) Wife wants something more comfortable than the RT and being the good husband who am I to deny her. :p I will keep you all informed.
One quick question:
Can some one tell me if I can put a larger memory card in the GPS that's coming with my 2002 LT and get all of North America on it?
Thanks
Tom

If it is the Nav II or 2610 I've heard of people putting a 2 GB CF card on it and getting all of the NA maps on it.
I have the Nav III and 2720 and can get all the 2009 maps on it without problems on just the internal memory. In fact my 2720 had the v8 NA maps then I added all of NA on it from the 2008 maps (minus Canada & Alaska/Hi) before I ran out of memory.

I just replaced the 1G card in my NAVII, a 2610 variant, with a 2G card. Got a no-name card that is supposed to be 20x or 40x speed for $10 on sale. All the maps fit onto the card.
I would recommend that you load the maps onto the card using the USB card reader option instead of loading directly into the GPS. I blew the formatting on the card twice trying to load directly. When I loaded through the card reader it was successful. I do load the waypoints and routes directly to the GPS.
Note that it does take longer for the GPS to boot itself up with the additional maps.

When I had mine, I got several 256's and just had to be aware of where one ended and another began. Stop and swap out, etc. If the previous owner upgraded to a NAV II on the other hand and that's what you have, get a 2GB flash card and you are in business to load the entire country.

Will the 2720 work in the same cradle that came with the original GSP?

If its the same as mine you can get a 256mb. card from Garmin, the GPS on my 03 came with a 128mb. card and it is a proprietary? card only from Garmin.
