Good Morning All,

Check out these photos from my Break-in ride through Sequoia NP last Saturday:

1. Saturday morning in Lemoore, CA.

2. Entrance to Sequoia NP. Got to me a nice couple from Berlin while taking this photo. Nice to meet someone who knows that BMW makes something other than cars!

Hope everyone enjoyed these photos. This was the first ride where I made it a point to stop and shoot some pics. The RT really makes it easy. FWIW, here are a few of my initial thoughts of riding an RT instead of an LT or an RR:

(Incidentally, I intend no LT-Bashing here. I enjoyed my LT and shared some really great rides with my Bride... It was just time to move on...)

*I like riding a touring bike that is 260-ish pounds lighter than LT I used to ride. Additionally, the RT is only slightly heavier than the RR with a bit over a half-inch increase in wheelbase...NICE.
*No brake squeal. (Should I say 'yet'?)
*No head shake when decelerating through 40 mph.
*No worries about dropping the bike because I wasn't looking straight over the windshield.
*I can see into corners without looking through the curved part of the LT's tall wind screen. Then again, I don't have my Bride riding with me so I can have the windscreen wherever I want it!
*I can just stick the RT in a corner and it turns through like it's on a rail. The LT always felt heavy and my RR would dive-in, NOW. The RT is just securely in the middle.
*RT throttle response seems smoother. Probably just me, I only rode 17k on the LT and about 3k on the R1150R. Did I say I finally figured out that I am an unapologetic boxer twin guy? (I am)
*For me (5'10", 31" inseam, 200lbs-ish) the stock seating/handle bar position on the RT fits better than the LT. The LT's non-adjustable without major modification bars would have me hunting for the cruise control after about 20 minutes.

Well, that's enought out of me. Thanks and ride safe.
