Have BMW low seat, no real problem, not the greatest but ok. Needed a backrest, been riding with one for 20 years. Got the Bak-Up Backrest, good product works well. Problem is it makes the seat area smaller. If I move back too far, part of me is sitting on the backrests steel vertical piece. Anyone have any ideas, on this, aftermarket seats that can work with this without sacrificing seat area, or if all else fails a seat maker that adds a backrest that works on this bike and is Comfortable ?

I put the Cee Bailey/Bakup Back Rest on my '08 and sold it after about 100 miles, for the reasons you stated. IMO, don't get lulled into the Corbin/Backrest combo...I did and getting out of that only cost me 250 bucks. Sorry I can't help with a back rest but maybe I saved you some money.

This has worked for me. It is not a backrest but a long duffle bag in which you will need to stiffen up somehow. I usually pack it full of clothing for trips but for casual rides have it stuffed with old blankets. It sits between me and my topcase and attaches to the passenger hand holds below the passenger seat. Might be a problem if you have no topcase.

I was actually thinking about one of these backrests.

Sounds like it isn't such a great idea.. I really don't have to have one because of the seating position. But it is nice to relax if I am one handing it in cruise.

Actually the Backrest does what it is supposed to, and is a well made product. I am just used to a larger seat, like on an LT or a Goldwing.
