Problems with Firefox

I am having several problems using Firefox with the bmwlt.com site. The first problem has been going on for awhile now. I cannot automatically logon to the site even though I have the option selected in the options dialog. My user name and password are stored because they come up when I enter the first character of the login.

A more recent thing that has started happening is that after I login, I usually go to the new activity-past day. I now get an error saying that I must wait 10 seconds before submitting a new search. I get this error regardless of how long I wait after logging in.

Any ideas?

I'm logged on and using FireFox 2.0.0.13 to make this response.

I use it everyday without the issues you describe.

When I click on the Button to go to this site, I use this URL:
http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/search.php?do=getnew

This will automaticall display New Posts since my last visit.

What are the "settings"? Clik, (tools/options/security) is the box checked in the "password" field (Remember passwords for sites)...

Then make sure BMWLT is not one of the "exceptions"

...also, Tools/Options/Privacy... then check the "Settings" under "Private Data" If you "clear" the password each time you close Firefox, it will erase as described.

I am using the same version of Firefox. I have been using various versions of Firefox for a number of years without any issues at all. This problem seemed to start after one of the Firefox upgrades. I deleted and reinstalled Firefox (though I could not clear out the user preferences). I changed my bmwlt.com home page to match the string above. Once I login I get the updated posts but still do not automatically login. I have remember passwords enabled and the bmwlt.com site is not blocked. I am not clearing my private data when I logoff. I have the same issue with at least one other site but not with several others.

Did that already. I need to find out how to delete the file that contains Firefox preferences since this info appears to be retained after deleting Firefox.

I am using the Ikon bar under the adress bar. There I have put down the link (and removed the words so only BMW logo shows) and I just push that one to get back to "latest topics" bar.

I have also experienced that 10 second thingy but not lately.

I always run the latest version Firefox and only use IE for emergencies when the Firefox hangs up!
