Bright and early on Tuesday, I'm leaving Long Island for some fun in North Carolina. My plan is to leave by 4:30am to avoid traffic. I'm going to work my way to 81S or 95S (and cross over to 81 via 66)and jump onto the Blue Ridge Pkwy by Milepost1 and ride her as far south as I can before being forced off because of closures.

Does anyone know how 81 is through PA? 95 is a pain around Baltimore and with my luck I'll hit it right around rush hour.

My plan is to camp at Peaks of Otter or if I'm feeling good Rocky Knob Campground. I'm not going to kill myslef. Worse case scenario, if I'm beat the closest Motel 6.

My hope is to arrive on Wednesday around dinner time or worse case early Thursday. I really want to enjoy the Blue Ridge as much as possible.

On Sunday, I'm going to slab it all the way home. I figure I'll leave after breakfast. Anyone want ride home with me?

My plans are simular, I will ride back on sunday as far as the Wilmington DE area. My plan was to ride to work leaving early this Sunday and now they are calling for snow showers in hills!!!

I was looking forward to a nice ride down the BRP as well. I am going to meet my reps in Asheville, make some calls and then off to the STC for the rest of the week. Of course I expect "Iffy" weather and rain.... But snow showers just stink!!! :( Oh well looks like I will just add another layer under the rain suit......

Rob,

I81 through PA is fine. Not a very interesting ride but the traffic should be relatively light, although there are quite a few trucks that use the road.

Have Fun,
Kevin
