With the ridiculous prices of BMW synthetics, does anyone out there just use Automotive syns? Mobil 1, Castrol Syntec, any suggestions? I'm revving up for my 12000mile service. Thanks,

You'll want to do a search for oil and you'll have all the info you need.

Similar to the "Red-Head, Brunette, Blonde" or "Leg, Butt, etc" discussions. All opinions no conclusion.

For me, I use synthetic Shell or Mobil as well as for the final drive + tranny.

Change it frequently and "just ride it".
