Do you use thread lock on your J-peg bolts? If so, how much of a pain is it to get them off again?
I seem to have to go 'under the covers' so often that I would hate to damage them by heating ali and stainless all the time.

I've never had a problem with mine loosening up. No thread lock, just the little spring washer that came with them.
Thread lock would be overkill.
Are you having a problem?
Just a little, little bit of blue Locktite should secure it and not require heat to unfasten. Don't cover all the threads, just a few on one side of the fastener.
Don't go near the red Locktite for anything that needs to come apart on a routine basis.

No having a problem (now I have them on)
But the instructions said to use the threadlock enclosed in the kit.

That threadlock is blue locktite & will break loose without heat. I used it on my install.

You can also use purple Loctite. It's made for small bolts and screws. I use that for things I take apart frequently.
