Can the GSA's electrical system handle having Gerbings Heated Pants and Jacket being plugged into them through the standard BMW plugs on the bike, or am I going to have to hook them up directly through the battery? If I have to hook them up through the battery, any suggestions from you smart guys on how to do that? Ron

Yup, just wire the controller directly to the battery.

Been using Gerbings on my GS Adventure since 2006.

Gerbings Heat Trollers have a direct battery conection option.

Thanks Dave! I just got the Gerbings in the mail today. I will order the direct battery connection for the heat troller and I should be good to go. I appreciate your help. Ron

To check your capacity- Add up the AMPS you're drawing on the bike, then compare that to your alternators capacity.

Example. Our Warm & Safe 100 watt liner draws 7 amps.

The 65 watt liner draws 5 amps.

Hi Ron, I am a new member but just recently imported into Canada with much hassle a GS 1200. Centech makes a nice 60 amp sub panel in to which you can wire any number of separate circuits. The new GS supplies enough amps without problem for this sub panel. The BMW canbus system appears limited. I believe from the standard plug in one is limited to a maximum 5 amp load.Hope this helps cheers Rogerbc
