No Idle

After taking the bike out of it's enforced winter hibernation it was discovered the battery was completely knackered. Plus engine would not stay running when I closed the throttle, thought this problem was related to dead battery.
Replaced battery and the engine still dies the instant I close the throttle.
Could this be an easy fix, or another trip to the shop.

Easy fix indeed! You need to do the following:

1)Turn ignition ON but leave engine OFF
2) Open throttle all the way and release
3) Repeat steps 1 and 2.
4) Turn ignition off
4) Turn ignition ON and crank up the engine.

These needs to be done whenever the battery gets disconnected long enough to reset some of the electronic controls.
