I enjoy and appreciate dealing with Companies that Understand and Practice Excellent Customer Service.

I have owned and used daily a Valentine 1 Radar Detector for more than 5 years and 150,000 miles and there's no telling the amount of cash and driving record points this excellent device has spared me from parting with.

The Valentine 1 is integrated into my motorcycles intercom system so that I can hear alerts from the V1 instead of having to notice the visual alerts on the face of the device.

The detector has braved extremes in both temperature and moisture and always provided the additional security blanket of protection I've become accustomed to while using the V1.

Last Friday (3/21) I sent the Valentine 1 back to the manufacturer for the latest software and hardware updates. It arrived in Cincinnati this past Monday (3/24) and it's now back in my hands after they performed their magic on 3/27.

The unit had the look of being exposed to the elements with oxidation on the case and somewhat blurry red lenses.

During their upgrade process the software was updated as well as some hardware changes. They then polished up the case and lenses and affixed a new label to the bottom with the unit's new serial number indicating it's been upgraded. It has a new one year warranty as well.

Excellent Customer Service and Technological Superiority are the reasons I elected to purchase the Valentine 1 over other models.

If your in the market for a Top of the Line Radar/Lidar Detection System you owe it to yourself to research the Valentine 1 before making your decision. You'll be glad you did!

We have a V1 in all of our vehicles and my bike. I just love them. The only problem I've had was when talking to customer service the kid got shitty when I asked him if they had any plans to waterproof them for our bikes. He said they were never meant for bikes. Uh, why do you sell bike accessories for them then?

That is indeed strange.

They had no problem with the shape mine was in before they purty'd it up.

+1 for me.

Mine died, so I called up and Mike himself answered the call and after a brief courteous diagnostic discussion, he asked me to dispatch it to them for repair. I asked if he needed my credit card details and he said 'no, send it in, let us take a look and we'll let you know'.

5 days later it arrived back in the mail, all fixed up and nothing to pay.

Thats what I call customer service!

Yea...here's another 'thumbs-up' to Valentine.

I bought my V1 from a forum member in here. Although the unit was technically "used", it was in an unopened package. when I called Valentine needing to buy the remote audio device, I explained how and where I purchased the unit and they registered it to me ... no problem. :) A lot of companies would treat you like a third-class citizen at that point. I then ordered the remote audio device and it showed up in my mailbox the next day.

I have been more then happy with the V1. It is my wife not I with the lead foot and boy has it saved us some bucks. I go on the web site every so often to see if updates are available and to date none yet for our unit. I will surely do so when there are.
