I'm probably fighting a loosing battle but don't want to give up yet. I unfortunately added a BMW CB to my '05 along with the VOICE II com system. Like so many others here the CB is virtually worthless. Works great 'till I start the engine. Then it broadcasts a squeel with the PUSH TO TALK depressed and with the squelch barely cracked it has lots of noise in the head set when just idling or receiving. I tried a headset from EDSETS as suggested by "the1mavin" in an earlier thread to no avail. Same results as my J&M hardware. Tomorrow I plan to fresh'n up all my ground connections with my die grinder and perhaps hang some low value capacitors on the grounds in an attempt to filter some of the noise. However, I really don't have much hope. I'm open to any and all suggestions. This is becoming extreemly frustrating as the dealer where I purchased all the electronics really doesn't seem interested in the problem and apparently neither is BMW!! Lookin for some help from the HAM operators out there or anyone else who understands RF.

I too have been going thru the same thing with the CB on my 2005,
I have ask the dealer about it and the service tech showed me an e-mail to them from BMW saying they were aware of the problem and that a new lower cord was in the works to take care of this problem (ya right and pigs fly).
I called BMW and they go so pissed at me they hung up on me because I wanted to talk to someone in the know about it. All they would say is talk to you dealer ( as if I had not).
I have sent a couple of e-mails to BMW and they can't even take the time to reply.
BMW SERVICE even HD gives better service they at least will let you talk to someone in the know...

As you can see I am not a happy camper when it come to BMW Motorad..

I have two of the lower cords on order and my dealer says they won't be in until mid January. The date keeps getting pushed back. However, he said the change is being made to fix the CB issue.

Thanks

By the looks of this post it seems I'm not the only one that is a little disappointed with my new BMW CB. I was pretty excited about installing my new Christmas present earlier today but now I'm rather disappointed. Not too much for instructions and am having a bit of trouble guessing what goes where. Also, was carefully tieing things down after putting in the relay and had a bit of a wiring malfunction as you can probably see from the attached JPG. This was clearly not attached from teh factory correctly. Might be a contributing factor to some of the problems others are having with thier CB's. Anyone out there have some experience at connecting this CB that might want to share a little expertise with a rookie?

I also have one of those $600.00 helmet hangers oh I mean CB's. At least yours will make noise. I turn mine on and it lights up but that's about. I put my SWR meter on it couldn't get the meter to calibrate so I switched to power output guess what no output. Dealer is clueless. I ask them if they checked all the grounds . I all got was blank stare. Same answer I get when I complain about alternator hum in audio.
      :(

I have the same problem with mine. Bought Sept 04 and had the BMW CB install with the voice II system and it has not worked from the begenning. The, the dealer changed some wires and other things also with no change.
Have been talking with BMW Commester Service and they keep telling me that they are working on it. Today Dec 27th the same story. The dealer sayes that the information that he is getting is that new wiring is coming but is on back order for about 2 mounts. Now what is one to do?
Thinking about taking it back and ask for money back and go and get a differnt brand of Cycle.
