High idle

Got the 96 K1100RS back together and started her up. Right off she is idling high, 3k. Disconnected the battery and then connected it again and did the "turn the throttle slowly" with the ignition on. Still high. Disconnecting the battery clears the faults. Still high. I didn't mess with any setting when she was apart. Any ideas ladies and gentlemen?

Head gasket changed, throttle bodies off (cables not disconnected), most electrical connectors cleaned, instrument cluster assembly off. Basically the whole bike down to the engine to get to the headgasket.

CHeck your throtle cables. THough you did not disconnect them the outer cable could have snagged at one of the ends - make sure the outer is fitting snugly into its holder.

Cables ok. Found the TPS way off.
