Speaker??? I am new to all this and have been trying the unit in my "cage"
I have the power adapter with the speaker on it (came with the GPS)
Why can't I hear the gps tell me I'm lost? Is it made only for ear phones?
Does this unit need to be mounted on the bike to hear it and does the sound go through the bike's speakers?
So far I am very impressed with this new farkle!!!

Yes, you should be able to hear your GPS thru that speaker in your cage. Is the volume turned up?

Here is a picture of a adobe file I have. I had to take picture because I only have adobe reader and could not copy file and send it to you. It's not the best picture but if it helps you great. I have a BMW 2610.
May we never find the end of the road!

Nice post Perry. :)
BTW...update your Acrobat Reader to version 7. You can select and copy text, or take a picture of any part of a page. Very handy...and free. :)

As already indicated there is a volume setting on Nav II. It affects the volume on the power source with speaker for the cage as well as the volume on the earpiece for the bike.
If you want Nav II to speak to you over the speakers you will need the BMW intercom. Only that accessory will lead the sound of Nav II to the speakers. Since I didn't want to choose for the BMW intercom, I bought the Baehr Ultima K1200LT intercom. There is an audio cable that goes from the cradle to the intercom. I now hear Nav II over the headset in the helmet.

You could have the voice turned off. From the main screen press the menu button on the right of the screen. Then touch the "options" choice on the screen. Then select "General" at the top of the screen. This will give you a screen where you can select the "Voice" by touching the "Voice" category. After touching the "voice" option you will be given three choices. "Guidance and Status, Route Guidance or Speak Key only". You may have the "Speak Key only" selected.
