HEAD-LITES (two) 2 Super Bright LED's can easily be turned on/off with a push-button switch... even with gloves! An easy to change slim-line battery powers the whole show. And as mentioned before, installing HEAD-LITES is your helmet is easy... 5-10 minutes on average.www.BackupBackrest.com (http://www.bakupbackrest.com/headlites/default.htm)

One legitimate question we get asked frequently regarding HEAD-LITES is the potential glare the system may create when the helmet shield is down. Because the LED's are recessed within the bullet housings, the system does not produce any blinding glare to negatively affect the riders' vision. Some rider's with tinted or mirrored shields may notice a "halo" of light around their temple region, but this does not prove distracting and is automatically factored out by our brains about 2 seconds down the road.
We have two models ( Full Face ) and ( 1/2 - 3/4 Helmets). Just find the one that is right for you...

I don't know about all states, but I do know that in CA it is illegal to have any forward facing lights other than amber/yellow for turn signals, fog lights, and hazard warnings, and white for headlights. Other colors will get you stopped. Since these are attached to the rider and not the vehicle it is a toss up, but I still think it may get one stopped. I can see red ones on the BACK of the helmet, but certainly do not agree with colored lights on front.

Besides being legal or illegal, I seriously expect oncoming traffic to be wondering what the hell that is. That extra 5 seconds of staring and wondering will probably kill 50% of your customers...

I think I've got the perfect formula for a free night at the Graybar Hotel - complimentary breakfast the next morning is included! :D
1. One blue and one red Head-lite.
2. Rewire my Hyperlite high beam so that it works at night.
3. Position my mirror image Polite "bumper sticker" low on the windshield, and make it out of 3M reflective tape.

Our Attorney's told us that we had to put warning statements to protect everyone's butt. You would want to check with your friendly State Trooper or DMV for your States roadway laws and regulations in regards to HEAD-LITES being street legal on your States roadways.
From the research which we have conducted within the State of Florida, HEAD-LITES are roadway legal no matter the color because the light being created is not located on the actual machine. Moreover, authorities who we have questioned believe that the safety benefits HEAD-LITES brings the user would outweigh and adversity to color choice. But as mentioned previously, do yourself a favor and check things out for yourself just so you're legal on your streets.
Lets' put it this way... with the thousands of sets we have sold since HEAD-LITES recent introduction, we have not heard of a single rider who is unhappy with their purchase.

Star Wars was always a step ahead of technology...
In fact, We should go bigger on the LED's to really capture the look of... well... What ever that thing is.

With all due respect, this is the stupidest thing I've seen in a while. Should go over well with the squid crowd.

No harm done... It's not for everyone, just the few people who want to add a little extra flash. I've seen a few things that I would never put on my bike or helmet, yet just like the Bubba Teeth, people continue to buy what they want to buy.

Man, y'all are harsh. If it's not your thing that's OK, but why the need to bag on others then?
Ryan, I have a couple of serious questions for you. First, can these be used to light up what you're looking at, as in maps, etc.? I imagine the white versions would be best for that, although sometimes red or blue reduces glare at night.
And second, for a flip face helmet would you recommend the full face version or the 1/2 & 3/4 version?

Thanks Ken... To answer your questions, Yes: they are perfect for reading a map, digging in your tank bag, etc, etc... They are super bright. We did pull the "Pink" HEAD-LITES because the LED's can not produce a bright light. Instead of having un-happy customers saying the pink is not as bright as the other colors we just pulled that color, and we no longer offer it. However every other HEAD-LITE color looks sharp!
If you plan to use this for reading maps, I would go for the Blue or the White.
For a flip face or Modular helmet you would want to use the Full Face version.
On a full face helmet you would mount the on/off switch in the front where your chin is, but on the Flip Face Helmet you just need to mount the on/off switch next to the chin strap.
Once you get it in your hands you will get a good feel for the install. Thanks again...
