I am planning on visiting my mother in Everett, WA in June or July. Have two days up and two days back; any suggestions on routes or things to see?
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
Raymond

LOOONG way to go in 2 days each way !!

But that said, HWY 1 all the way to westport and over to 101 is is MUST DO at some point.

From there any semi direct route is going to be a beautyful ride ...OR & WA are just gorgous states if you stay west !

Everything is relative. Here (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=8190187260707492245,38.317680,-123.027760%3B5474709813084736624,38.986650,-123.684920%3B6203894956797689398,39.894190,-123.753940%3B18024843071540969291,40.219760,-123.798400&saddr=Sacramento,+CA&daddr=CA-1+%4038.317680,+-123.027760+to:CA-1+%4038.986650,+-123.684920+to:US-101+%4039.894190,+-123.753940+to:US-101+%4040.219760,+-123.798400+to:43.020714,-124.096069+to:Everett,+wa&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=5&sz=8&via=1,2,3,4,5&sll=42.75508,-122.217407&sspn=2.420028,6.020508&ie=UTF8&z=8) is a CA-1/US-101 that makes an interesting but easily doable SS1000. Of course the slower route (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=8190187260707492245,38.317680,-123.027760%3B5474709813084736624,38.986650,-123.684920%3B6203894956797689398,39.894190,-123.753940%3B18024843071540969291,40.219760,-123.798400%3B14366487363670603835,44.307250,-124.100470%3B578630901976055287,45.784480,-123.958010%3B4167679430648464994,46.622300,-123.275130&saddr=Sacramento,+CA&daddr=CA-1+%4038.317680,+-123.027760+to:CA-1+%4038.986650,+-123.684920+to:US-101+%4039.894190,+-123.753940+to:US-101+%4044.307250,+-124.100470+to:US-101+%4045.784480,+-123.958010+to:WA-6+%4046.622300,+-123.275130+to:Everett,+wa&mra=mr&mrcr=0&via=1,2,3,4,5,6&sll=39.622615,-122.288818&sspn=5.076884,12.041016&ie=UTF8&ll=38.195022,-121.992187&spn=5.17989,12.041016&z=7) all the way up the coast to Raymond, WA is nice too. As a SS1000 it might be an interesting challenge. :D

Of course if taking pictures and flower sniffing are the objective rather than just riding then as others have already stated it could be a long ride. ;)

I'm here to tell ya, watch out for those flowers along 101 in Northern Cal! They can pull an LT over!

Otherwise, if you have the time, do take the Coastal route as much as you can. It really is the most fun as well as scenic.

Thanks. Two days, even if flower sniffin only makes it at most 500 miles a day; is only 800 miles if I run up I5. I am used to doing 600-800 mile days back to back for two weeks, so this should be easy. I really need to know if there are any not to miss points along the way, or any not to miss roads. I have Norcal pretty much scoped; need info on Oregon and Wash. Will probably take 3 days up and slab it home in one day.
Thanks.
