I had a lot of funny looks today

Everyone up here in the NW knows how much snow we have been getting this year. I know its Feb 23 but I had to go get some mountain roads. It has been relatively nice the last few days, so I decided to go to MT Rainier and see how far I could make it. My goal was Paradise. The road in was in better shape than I thought it would be. Plenty of sand and gravel but so far the winter hasn't chewed up the road surface to bad. Made it to the 4700 foot level before I had ice on the road. Mostly where your two right wheels would be if you were caging it. As I got closer to paradise I had to ride in the oncoming lane a few times because my lane had thick ice where the sun never shines. So with alternating lanes a couple of times up and back down I escaped riding on ice except for a few short patches of a couple feet each.

Great to hear from you. I see you have a new screen name. Lets make sure we get together this year. I know you "should" have the time, Being retired and all. There are some roads in your neck of the woods that I have yet to explore.

You guys and California have been getting our weather and we have been getting your sunshine. So, I just imaging I am riding in the land of sun. I would speed up in the straights where I could see and then definetly keep within sight distances in the curves.
