center stand failure

after spending a day riding in the rain my center stand failed me, it has done this once before after a day in the rain. i checked the connectors for water and found none. it previously corrected itself after afew dry days. does anyone know what got wet and how to prevent it in the future

It would be nice if they (BMW) designed the power stand with a back-up foot (manual) operation. That way you would always be able to utilize the center stand, even with a dead battery.

Just an idea BMW...

Most likley the switch on the handle bar or a relay under the seat. Check for a wet short at the motor. Look at fuse first...
