I would like to put a set of the newer gray seats on my 2000 LT. Are there any problems??

The plastic fairing under the seat of your 2000 is different than the newer bikes. It won't fit with out trimming the plastic and metal frame tabs that support it...

depends on the year any probably type of the seat. I put 2004 comfort seat (drivers) on my 2002, so that it went right down I had to grind away the top edge of the side covers which was a shame as it turned out the comfort seat was awful so I put the original back on.

The others have already explained the minor mechanical problems with this process.
And "Axle" referred to the comfort issue. I second him, you will face a major setback in that respect.
IMHO I would rather swap an old model seat into a new model bike, not the opposite.
