I'm looking for the paint code for the silver accent color on the bottom and the top of the saddlebags. Anyone know?

I've heard it is actually incorporated into the vin code, only how it's read I don't know. Somebody chime in?

This is what I have written down on a sticky note:

426 Graphite paint
519 101 4 4 541
Lower fairing paint

Butt - I couldn't find it anywhere, so I bought several cans of Krylon Chrome Aluminum #K01404 (at the suggestion of a site member who posted about it sometime ago, butt I can't find the thread). I just finished painting the lower fairing pieces - both sides and the chin - and it's a great match to the original, as long you paint the whole thang. I got it from Utility Safeguard LLc, suite 230, 7018 AC Skinner Parkway, Jacksonville, FL 32256. You might try a website for 'em.

I've got an extra can or two if you wanna try 'em. PM me (in the meantime, I'll check on shipping to see if it has to go *ground* rules cuz of the propellant) if you do. You wanna see a pic? I can do that this afternoon if you wanna.

Joe:

I had to repaint my lower tupperware after repairing from a drop.:( I took a section of the tupperware to a local auto paint supplier and he used his computer "paint reader" and sold me a quart of matching color. Worked very well.

God bless:

At this point, I'm just looking to touch up some rock chips, not repaint the whole part.

He should be able to tell you the paint code applicable to the year of your LT and may be able to order the touchup paint for you. I have learned, though, that not all colors of BMW paint are available from BMW for some odd (EPA?) reasons. The toll free number is 1-800-262-9150.

For touchup paint I went to Advance Auto Parts and bought GM 508 Ultra Silver in a 1/2 ounce tube that has the brush in the cap. It matched very well. I spent a while comparing the different shades against the fairing and found that the one I bought was closest. For touching up chips I doubt you will see a differnce from the original.
