One day my cruise control was working and the next it wasn't. I have a 2005 LT. Any ideas on what might be wrong.

Good chance its the throttle cable just needs adjustment.
There is also a diag routine to test all the switches somewhere on this site. I'm sure someone will come up with that.

This was my thread. It has a few links there also.

Wash the bike or sit uncovered in the rain lately?

Mine was susceptible to water intrusion in the on/off, Accel/Res switches. Cycling the switches on and off several times would apparently cure the corrosion problem. Have sprayed the switches with silicon lube and avoid getting the grips wet; have not had another problem.

Best of luck,
Curt

Does the cruise control not work at all now, or does it work intermittently?
The diagnostic check should help pin point which micro switch is not working properly. -Chuck-

Mine seems to be related to the weather and not riding enough. Initially it doesn't want to work, but after a few miles and some throttle operation, it works fine. Like someone else said, could be the throttle cables being a bit sticky or stiff.

Mine was on and off. It ended up being the switch by the clutch lever. Worked ever since. ;)

Thanks for all the replies. I will check it out and try the things you have given me when I get back in town Sunday. I will let you know what I find out.

Mine quit working during a Christmas trip to the coast and then I dropped the bike at Big Sur. Been working ever since. Worked for me. ;)

Have you tried this (http://www.bmwlt.net/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=K1200LT&Number=135159&page=4&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=0&vc=1) procedure? I've found more than once that my throttle cables were too tight. Cut them a little slack, but follow the procedure first. The procedure will not let you proceed until you fix the problem that is identified.

Good luck!

Couldn't tell the age & mileage of you bike by your post (might want to consider doing so in the future)
Another possibility is the speedo sensor cable is developing an intermittent "open" in it where the cable transitions from the swing arm to the frame. You may not always see the needle flicker, but it will kick out the cruise control everytime.
I know because it happened on my '99 twice over 143k
