I've been having some trouble with my radio. Last fall the left side speakers went dead. I finally got around to checking it out. Disconnected the battery, greased the contacts etc., but still no sound.
There is a company called Radioman in San Diego who said they can work on a BMW motorcycle radio. My question is; have any of you used them (or any other company) to fix your radio and what were your opinions?
Thanks,

When I lived in San Diego, I had him work on one BMW car radio, and one BMW CD changer when the disk swapping mechanism failed. The CD changer failed again about 7 months later, this time the read head, and he promptly repaired it again no cost. Surprised me a little since it was a totally different repair required. All repairs are guaranteed for one year. He does a LOT of them, mostly European, but also higher end Japanese units. He can be trusted. The BMW radio is the same basic unit used in some BMW cars, just packaged differently.
Every time I went in there there would be a stack of packages going out that day, and several in his incoming pile. He must be REALLY busy.

Their web site is at Radiomanrepair.com.
Sorry, I'm not able to post the link in this reply.
How the heck do you do that anyway?

Radioman=cluster of activity
Why can't things just go smooth? I sent my radio off to Radioman on 2-27-08. After some time and phone calls I was informed that they sent the radio off to "Becker" in NewJersey to be fixed. After some more prompting, a woman called last week to say that the radio had been fixed by Becker and I would probably get it this week.
Today I get a message that the radio was declared non repairable by Becker and shipped to the wrong adress on 3-24-08. They have tracked it down and expect to recieve this week. I should call them to let them know what I want to do with it. WTF!
They apparently did not know where the radio was for the past month and were just giving me a line of feces. If the lost it, they should have just told me. What a crock! I understand it may not have been repairable. but just freaking tell me that!
Thanks, I feel better now. Maybe if you live in San Diego and deal directly with them things work out better, but long distance phone tag is frustrating.

MAX, NY sent my 05 radio to N J in Jan 08 & got the same answer, not fixable. Must be the same place. It quit after riding in pouring rain for a couple of hours last Sept. Never dried out?
