This looks like something that should be inexpensive to make. Have no idea where to look for the material.
Thanks in advance!

These are made by RMH out of Bellingham, WA. Their website is here (http://www.rmh-tech.com/bmw-products.html).
I have the driver's bags which work well for what they are. But I agree that the dash shield can be made for a lot less than what they're asking for it.

Thanks for that link! This is the only product I have seen at all similar to the copilot shelf. I didn't want to have to remove the windshield to install this, but looks like that is the case no matter which you get. I was thinking of using the dual locks, and just shape something waterproof and sturdy enough to last a couple of years. This looked like a good idea. May have to do more looking and find a used copilot shelf. Still have what seems like way too long a wait till the weather is nice enough to get back on the road so I am not in any hurry.

Did you look at this one (http://www.accolademotorsports.com/eshopprod_cat_2487-21742-15640_product_315675_keyword_RCU+AND+shelf.K1200LT_ACCESSORY_SHELF.htm) from Salt Lake BMW shop? I use one - no drilling to mount it. Painted mine to match the dash trim. The BMR shelf may offer more flexibility in mounting several items, butt ole Toad only has the SmarTire monitor and the XM Delphi XT radio unit and occasionally, a small radar detector that isn't very reliable, cuz it's old school. Definitely blocks the dash reflection to the windshield.
I thought the co-pilot unit mounted right on top of the stingray, which wouldn't afford much blockage of the dash lights to the shield. I could be wrong - been known oncet!!
