If any of you guys follow the Nor Cal Forum at all like I do, then you will know where this thread is going! If not, hop over there and find similarly titled threads.
Details to follow soon, but let's just day the words Dual Sport may be involved! And it ain't a new one!

Are you sure you didn't drink all that good will before stepping into PMC? I think there might be a happy salesperson over that direction. ;)

I knew it. I knew I felt its presence. We will be anxiously waiting for pictures and a full description. This is very good! :D

OK, a few hints are in order I guess. It is not caused by anything on any dealer's floor, good will cool aid notwithstanding! Speaking of good will, I just got a call from David at PMC just a few minutes ago saying that Katie was ready to be picked up! I decided tomorrow morning would be a much nicer drive/ride than this time of day however, so she is spending one more night at the dealer.
The disturbance is coming from a private party and is not too new, but has a great reputation and following. It is fondly referred to as a "Steamer"! The newer versions of this fine machine are referred to as "Girlies"!
Anyone know what the cause is based on those hints?

Pun intended Dan? The attached pic is a file I copied off one of the sites that are affiliated with the machine. The one I am picking up soon is a different color, but the same basic style.

Tks John! Maybe sometime this weekend I can post some actual pics. Last Triumph I owned was over 25 years ago: a 750 Bonnie that had burnt up from a leaky petcock for the previous owner. I got her for a song then proceeded to completely strip, re-paint, re-wire, and rebuild the engine to make a new Bike out of her!
The Bonnie was a great Bike for her time, but the Tiger is a whole nother animal!

Tks David! And you're right about the growl. The triple does have a nice throaty roar to it.

In fact Denny, I was almost pulling some wheelies just riding it home from around the corner in Tigard, where my friend who sold it to me lives! It has a little problem with the idle circuit (probably varnished over pilot jets, since it has been just sitting a garage for most of the last two years), so I really had to keep the gas on when I took off from any stop. Yow, there is a Tiger in there wanting out!
She needs some tuning up after sitting for so long, but that helps keep the price down also. I hope within a month or so I'll be ready to start riding the H--- out of her!

Black really is a great color! Here are a couple of pics of the actual article! She may a little long in the tooth but only by the calendar. For mileage it is only 12K on a '95 Tiger! The Bike looks like it has never gotten dirty. It needs a little tuning up after sitting for the last few years in a heated garage!

Neat - Maybe I should send you some photos of the Tiger that I went to watch at the Bonneville Salt Flats - He was an Englishman who met two of my brothers in law and was trying to join the 130mph club - quite an event and quite a long story.
I am really enjoying my venture onto the gravel roads with the new to me - V-Strom or is that Wee-Strom. Even had it on display at the Seattle International Motorcycle show in December - last.

Count me in Dan! Provided I'm not in the middle of any needed preventive maintenance that is! I was kind of hoping someone else with a DS Bike would speak up.
Art, you're next on the DS list buddy!

Hey John,
Why not bring the Tiger north on Sunday?
AlaskaFish
Feb 26th, 2008, 6:38 pm
I'd love to Clayton, but it may not be back together yet, and I still need to register it along with the Title transfer. Minor details all, but you know how it is with the little things. It has been sitting for the most part these last 3 years so right now I have the carbs off so that I can clean out the jets and replace the Air Filter!
You all know how we gripe about having to remove the fuel tank on our LT's just to change the Air Filter? How about not only the tank, but the Carbs as well just to get the Air Box off so you can replace it or the element inside?
Quirky Europeans and Brits!

John I didn't realize you had been working on the beast. I understand about working on this modern stuff, the older ones were easier to work on. What year is the new toy? Me and the wife have been talking about getting a R1200 GS for that dirt riding I used to do alot back in my youth. How ever the thing I keep thinking of I still have only so much time to ride with that work thing taking up so much of my time.

Just an update for everyone out there who may have been wondering: She's alive! This Tiger now purrs like a pussycat until I blip that throttle, then she roars like the Tiger she is! What a great sound from the pipes! Not too loud, just a sweet trumpet like sound. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that the middle cylinder exhaust is split between the two outer pipes.
And the Wx is going to be turning for the better soon!
