I got my bike back together with new front and rear Ohlins this weekend. Also drilled out Slave housing and new slave cylinder, output seals on transmission and installed the new throttle cable upgrade. I was worried that I was spending all that money on the Ohlins and would not see that much of a difference. My bike had 36000 miles and I will tell you it is amazing at the difference. Took a spirited ride down a twisty road called Red Bluff Rd. yesterday, I have been down this road hundred’s of times and I could tell the bike was more stable and confident than it ever has been. I am 6’-2 and weight around 235 lbs and do a lot of two up riding so I got the heavy spring installed. I made the right choice.

It's amazing how you don't seem to notice your shocks going weak until you replace them. It's not like they are perfect one day, and totally bad the next. Shock degredation is a very gradual thing, and one tends to adapt to the way the bike handles.
But boy, going from worn shocks to new - THAT you notice!

yep - they're better than new, huh?! Had mine about 1 1/2 years now and no regrets.

Even when yours are new the Ohlins make a big difference. Mine were still like new but with the Ohlins, no more bottoming over speed bumps no more wallow in long fast sweepers just better all the time.

Put on Ohlins on my 2001 LT, last summer.
Love them.
If you've noticed, the bike stands a little taller.
It also means that the bike will have a more pronounced lean to port on the side stand.
Be careful when you park it, especially with gear (higher center of gravity).
