Garmin 2610 GPS

Bought a Garmin 2610 on ebay..
It supposedly has a motorcycle mount and wiring..
I have very little mechanical aptitude. The mount more than likely will not work, so I was thinking a shelf unit. If I get one from cycle gadgets and manage to get it installed.
What do I do with the wiring? Where to? I hope I don't need to modify or add a fuse box.
How do you guys use the GPS? Do I need to get speakers for my helmut to hear it?
I was hoping to just see instructions..
Would love any or all feedback.
By the way, the previous owner of my LT installed a communication system (audiovox, I think) there is a double type plug located in the tank trunk. There are also two plugs coming out from under the seat.
Could I use these hookups?

The second pic is the two plugs coming from unde the seat. I'm sure they are for a com system between driver and passenger.

The 2 plugs in the second photo suggest tha you have an autocom fitted. The first phote is probably a lead for a 2 way radio. If you remove the passenger seat (2 bolts) and follow the wires you will probably find the unit. Once you have identified the unit look at www.autocom.co.uk for manuals and details.

I think I do have the autocom system. I think the plug (tank trunk pic) may be for a CB radio (as you suggest)
Would either of them come in to play with a GPS?
Are you using a GPS? how? Do you use voice prompts?
I have a lot to learn, but would like to add the GPS and get use out of it..

If the unit is and AutoCom system, there is a special calbe that is used. It does not plug into any of the 5/6/7 pin connectors but into the AutoCom module itself. There are two 1/8" jacks that you plug GPS, cell phone and etc into. The big ended cables are for helmets and radios.
