Please advise...
Not very much Comp inclined...
Have the North American map on my BMW Motorrad Nav III. Since I moved to Europe I need a European continental road map instead.
Do I need to erase the US map first? how do I do that?
Do I need to buy from Germin the European map on a CD? or can I download it directly from there website?
Which map to chose? they have a few European maps on there web menu...
Anything else that I need to know/do about?
TIA

Hi Avi,

you can get the European Map DVD free from your local BMW dealer, you then need to register it with Garmin and purchase an 'unlock code'. You then get a choice in Mapsource to upload the new maps to your Nav III.

Hope this helps.

Thank you,
But if I'll get a free (?) DVD from my dealer why do I need Germin for? can't I just upload it? Do I need to erase first the US map?
I asked my dealer here in the past but was told to go to Germin website...?
So I still wonder...

Before you can use it, it must be 'unlocked' which currently costs $299 - the file is to big to download, but as alternative, you can buy the DVD directly from Garmin, in which case it comes with the unlock code on a seperate piece of paper.

Thanks again Woolly!
How do I erase the present US map I got on the GPS?
Hmm...300$ for a CD...not cheap... :(
Any more input on this? somebody?
TIA

When you upload the Euro maps, it will overwrite the US maps if there's not enough space, but Mapsource will retain the 'unlocked' US maps, so you can put them back on if you want to.

No, but you're paying for potentially the best mapping you can get.

TIA

Well, thanks, whats the matter with my advice :(
