Break fluid under the bike

All:
Had to move the LT today get to the Air compressor (Jeep tire flat).
Noticed when I moved it there was a puddle of Brake fluid from under the rear reservoir on the matt I park her on (About 6 inches round)

Resivoure still looked full.

Does this happen to anyone who (semi) puts it away for the winter. I top them off before parking it in December.

There is an overflow if you over fill it. Hopefully its just that. See if it happens again.

It is most likely the brake line where it comes out of the reservoir. The line takes a 90-degree bend to run down to the caliper. Mine went a few years ago.

That was the first thing I checked. The slave looks good and nothing in the wep hole that was added a few years back.

I am going to aggree that the brakelines on this bike are far from good. If you have the OEM brake lines I think it is time to start removing them one by one and checking that they are not chafed or cracked. I am in the process of replacing a front line because it blew out on me and shot brake fluid everywhere. An easy way to find out if its part of the high pressure side of you brake system is just apply the brakes and if it bleeds down then you have a brake line bad.

Have you replaced pads lately. I had this happen on my 2003 and it was just the overflow from the reservoir being just a tad high. It never happened again. Don't be surprised if your ABS lights start flashing after a hard stop on a cold day. Only a few drops low in that rear reservoir will cause that...and since you lost some...it can happen. Now, if they had not made it such a PITA to refill, it would have been nice.
