A co-worker was on a cruise and told me about this.

nice.. but do you have to wear black leather like all the riders on that ad? =)

(yes, this is a tongue-in-cheek attempt at humor)

That sure saves all that pesky riding to and from. Kinda like a big, floating trailer. :D

It's bad enough at some ports just walking on and off the ship. I can imagine the jacking around waiting for 300 bikes to be offloaded and then taken on an "escorted" ride. Gee, I wonder if the escorted rides would take you past places that have souvenirs, knockoff watches, or special meal deals? Then there's the jacking getting the bike back on the ship before it pulls at 5pm. That leaves time for two 30 minute rides and lunch. Times five ports? No, this cruise is about "taking" your bike on a cruise not "riding." Hey, it could be an excellent time it's just not about riding except maybe to Miami to catch the boat. I suspect someone really had a jones on to wear black leathers on a cruise with about 2200 of their friends and I'd bet the cruise terminal parking lot in Miami is full of trailers. Can you imagine "accidently" booking that cruise online not knowing it was a themed cruise? Guess they're not marketing to me. ;)

I am trying to imagine the reaction when CCR announces the 2009 Reunion is on a cruise ship out of Miami at $2400 per person.

I was thinking about the extra insurance you'd have to carry just to ride
your MC for those 30 minutes each day. Not worth it...

Hell, it's only $1200 to air freight the bike to the Big Island. Who needs the ship? LOL

I actually had my daughter( the travel agent ) look into this for the inaugural cruise. The cost was high, since you had to pay for the cruise and then the bike, you had to drain the gas tank before loading in each port, and the crew would get you fuel for the fully escorted ride, and you had to drain the tank before re-loading. Therer was a bit of confusion about whether you could leave the battery or not.

In its defense, all the paperwork, permits, etc would be handled by the agent, and he would provide the proper insurances for you at his cost?? Physical damage insurance while on board was extra, and the crew saw to securing the bike, not you.

Didn't seem worth the effort for a 30 minute ride, to me.

OTOH, why worry about CCR 09 when CCR 08 is still to come! Lots of ''stuff-to-do" still to come, and more great riding than anyone could wish for!

Keep checking the CCR page, as new stuff will be listed as it is finalized!

I've seen the ads for this cruise before. After reading them I wasn't too impressed. If your idea of a riding vacation is to spend lots of time sitting around in your fringed leather waiting and then "riding" in a herd like cattle then this is for you!

I'd rather ride cross country and see such unfortgetable sites such as the Corn Palace or exotic locations such as Toadsuck, AK!!!!

Bring on CCR08!
