I was wondering if anybody out there is using a shoei full face helmet and intercom setup with your K1200LT. I was wondering what a good helmet and system combination would be to use? Thanks.

I have the RF 1000 and a Behr intercom. I had to cut a small circle in the padding of the chin bar for the microphone but everything else works fine. You can remove the cheek pads to run the speaker wires under them.

I was running a Autocom system with a Shoei X-11. The only cutting done was in the foam area to recess the speakers so they weren't flopping around. Worked great!

My wife and I have the Shoei X-11 and the Behr com. system. I needed to alter the styrofoam so the speakers would indent enough for my ears to have room inside the helmet, (No. ear jokes please.). I also indented the chin pad for the mic. It took me about an hour, (I'm slow in the repair or fix-it mode.), to make these changes, but it all works well now.

While not full face, the flip-up is a great fitting alternative. We popped for the upgraded J&M headsets... what a difference. AWESOME. Nothing like Pink Floyd's PULSE in the twisties at a volume just below concert level. Did the headset install my self. Took a little over an hour to do both helmets. Just took extra care in getting it just perfect. No alterations needed.

I've done the full face... just like the flip up Shoei for fit, air movement when warm and wind noise suppression.

my $.02...

I am curious how you mounted the microphone for the MultiTec.

I am most interested if you keep the microphone loose until the helmet is on and ready to close. That is what I do and then afix the microphone to the velcro in the nose of the helmet. I may be doing it wrong but all presets seem to hamper the closing of the helmet and frankly is totally awkward. Any suggestions?

Most intercoms have interchangeable microphones (certainly AUtocom do) and I use the mic designed for open face helmets. It has amore rigid but still flexible 'boom' and works well.
