It is below freezing, so riding is not a lot of fun right now (and probably won't be for a couple months)...

Was wondering if anyone had any experience with either the Texas Two Step Rally or the Waltz Across Texas.

I have read through the Two Step Rally site and it looks like a good one for a rookie - can't fins much info on the Waltz.

Got any stories to share, advice, tips, cautions, etc. for a rookie?

Shawn,

I was wondering where Bartlesville OK is and you're practically in Kansas :p !

I guess it will be cold there for a while!

Maybe coming up we can meet somewhere like Paris TX and get some BBQ (don't know of a place in Paris, but I am sure there is one)! It is about the half-way point between Bryan & Bartlesville!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from New Orleans!

Yea, we'll have to get together sometime for a RTE. Spring time might be better - that's a long ride in the cold (unless Santa gets me some Gerbings :D )

I'm always game for a trip to Tejas - just need some advance notice so I can get the kitchen pass lined out. Last month I rode down to Stephensville for some BBQ at the Hard 8 and meet some of the gang -- it was GREAT!

We could probably scare up some of the guys from DFW/Plano and Tyler area also. They could probably suggest somewhere good...

Bryan?!? That's Aggie-land! Can we still be friends?

I have many friends who couldn't get into College and went the 4 year vocational school in Austin - I think it's name was tu ;) ;) !

Cassie, Sandi, and I ate at the Hard8 BBQ last weekend when we went to Glen Rose (Fossil Rim).

Just let me know when you are game - I have had several 800 mile day BBQ runs! And if you want, you are even invited to stay down at my place!

For the record, I didn't go there, but being trapped in Oklahoma during the Switzer era, and many years since, I quickly became a big Longhorn fan!

I taught both my boys to give the hook'em horns sign before they could walk. When we play football on the PS2, no one wants to be OU - can't imagine why! No OU paraphenalia is allowed in the house.

Aggies are ok in my book - work with a bunch of them... Other than them greeting each other with the Aggie "Whooop" in the hallways that is... ;)
