Is the 17th a full demo day? It's a 10 hour ride for me.
Usally Wednesday afternoon about 10% show up, Thursday about 40 percent of folks are there, Friday another 40% and Saturday all of us are usually there.
We try to consider all the options, I don't want the tech guys to miss out on the great riding the area has to offer.
I am thinking Friday most of the day and a Friday night seminar in garage for something and maybe another one to follow in the lodge...maybe the Garmin/MapSource demo...
Saturday morning til Noon for sessions, leave Saturday afternoon open for a ride. Saturday afternoon for a any special projects going on that folks have worked out in advance.
Saturday night is reserved for any speaker or another session, this is after dinner.
I will have my Handy Lift there as well, so some planning on the use of it. We should have most all the tools needed for projects, several are bringing any special needed tools.
Later, like in late March or early April, we try and get some type of schedule together in regard to time slots.

Just a reminder relative to the above Quote;
In order for us to be prepared for any projects that folks might have in mind it would be great if we can know in advance what the projects are. So, if you would like to fix something, install something, get assistance with changing fluids, etc please let Don or one of his elves know.
Thanks

I may not have internet access from Feb. 1 until March 8, 2008, therefore no email or PM service as well, so please post here to this thread any special projects. In that time period any of my elves :p can assist, make decisions, post, plan, schedule, rescheduele and assign Brett a chore.
I should be back on-line by March 10, 2008.

This is a campground with a bunkhouse and cabins along with RV spaces and tent spaces.
I or someone will post other housing options later this month... Most area motel near Ironhorse Lodge/Campground do not open until April 1 each year.
STC is informal gathering of BMW owners, mostly LT owners or former LT owners that now ride something else and from this forum.
In the Spring gathering called Spring Training Camp, we offer and assist others with special needs and projects. While this is not a service center or service day, we do demo methods and offer training by volunteers to help you with your bike. A few topics are covered each Spring.
As you can see by the first post in this thread are our planned topic thus far this year, which is subject to change.
We do ride, eat, sleep, learn and repeat as necessary and have a lot of fun in the process..
Come on down and join us!

Full cabin option....
Here is a link to the layout of the cabins on Thunder Mountain, they would prefer to rent a cabin out during our event, therefore several could got together and rent one of this cabins.
http://www.ironhorsenc.com/full_cabins.html
Looking at the link, you can see that each cabins contains several rooms and a common room with kitchen, fireplace and such.
Contact www.ironhorsenc.com (http://www.ironhorsenc.com) for more information and rentals...
Note: closer to the event, should they go unrented, then they may opt to rent out per room.

What I can do is this, for those of you who wish to ride their GS' to an LT event, I will ride your bike through the creek behind the Lodge! :rotf:
That will be the extent of your bike wash by Brett ;) Then I will ride your bike far and wide to dry it off.

Ron,
I have not done this swap yet so I don't have a good idea of how long it takes. If you are a pretty good wrench yourself and can do most of the sawp out under a watchful eye, we could squeeze it in while I am flushing the other bike. I don't think I would have time if I had to do all the work. I know Steve S. just finished a swap on his bike maybe we can get a readout on time from him.
Ok. I just went and found his post and it took him 3 1/2 hours to tear down and swap out. Like I said it really depends on how much you think you can do yourself with some assistance. I am willing to give it a go if you can work it too.

John,
I could do the work under a watchful eye....Start with just the front & rear lines which would require no tupperware removal...Then if time permits go further.

OK Ron,
That sounds good to me. Let's plan on it and I'll have all the tools we will need. Just bring your hoses and some fluid. I presume all the banjo fittings come with sealing gaskets so we don't have to re-use the old ones.

Jack, looking over the scheduled tech session, I don't see a 36,000 miles service tech session as such, however there will be a wealth of knowledge there that can answer any of your concerns about that type of service.

I think I can rewire my Sat. radio and gps myself. Just the install of the fuse box and relay. From what I've read, you tie the fuse box via the switch from heated seat. The thought of cutting into this part of the system freaks me out. All I can envision is my bike going up in flames!
