My new ( to me ) '00 LT does not have factory intercom. For two-up, radio, XM and possibly future FRS or CB, What is a good affordable system. I'm thinking I will want volume control and rider / passenger control. I'm not interested in BlueTooth at this point.

I love my Intaride system.. http://www.intarideusa.com/

Others just laugh, I think it's because it's so inexpensive ...

I upgraded the helmet speakers and the quality just ROCKS!!!!

To do that, I purchased a Titanium Driver set of headphones.. not the 'cup' style.. then I cut away all the plastic except the driver cover.. soldered in place and now I can barely hear myself sing!!!

So is this the only opinion out there? I'm also trying to understand the options and I AM interested in Bluetooth (but it sounds like it may not be a good option) along with music (XM using Cassette adapter) and someday GPS. So many to choose from , so many issues with all of them. Where to turn, who to trust? So what is working for you guys out there?

Norm,
Ride on over and I'll let you test ride Misty and the Intaride.

Sorry, the Intaride doesn't hit the "BLING" quotient....

I've never owned anything but Autocom. One came with the first bike I owned that had an intercom and I liked it well enough to stick with Autocom on all my subsequent intercom/audio integration projects. I don't have any experience with the other systems with the exception of an early generation of the Nady radio intercoms, which were pretty much junk right out of the box, IMHO. They are still in business so I would assume their quality has improved some since then.

There seems to be a lot of options today. WebBikeWorld (http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-intercoms/) has a number of reviews on a variety of products from high end systems like Autocom, Baehr and Starcom to the more affordable including some of the recent offerings from Nady. They have a pretty good comparison of Bluetooth products as well.

Liked the Nady 2way and intercom but the headsets went bad too often.
Wife and I hated my intaride, didn't work as well as the Nady.
We love the Beahr we got from Raffy. Its pricey but check with him for deals.

Suffered with Nady from 1999 to 2005, bought a new one every year @ $59 plus spare head sets, as the wires pulled out. OK for intercom below 40 MPH. Installed Beahr and Garmin 2730 with XM in 2006 on my 2000LT. What a joy!!

Thanks for the reponses. I was checking out the Intaride system but will also take a look at the Nady and Beahr systems as well. So many options and now Bluetooth (maybe not the best at this time) to choose from.

I like the fact that the Intaride will connect to the existing sound system and can accommodate bluetooth. Deacon, how / where do you have it mounted?
