These new cabins are ready this year, located in Thunder Mountain section. They are either single or up to 6 rooms with large common room with galley and TV, fire place and such... so if three or four person want to share one this cabins that is an option. These cabins are located on packed gravel driveway, but within walking distance of main lodge and bike parking. We will offer shuttle service via golf cart as well.

Thanks Gerald. I too was looking forward to meeting you. As for Farkel installs for STC, I'm not sue about you but I haven't received any specific requests. Maybe the LT's been around long enough now that the installs have become routine and folks don't need assistance or encouragement anymore. Anyway, hope you enjoy your visit to Iron Horse. It's a great place and the group always has a good time while there. If anyone does desire some assistance I'm sure that between yourself and all the other folks that will be there, Ya'll can GET'R DONE!

If you guys don't mind a westerner buttin' in on you annual event, it just might work out for me to drop by. I'm leaving Oregon on or about the 10th for Wirtz VA. That should put me nearby just about the 16th-17th. I'll have my tent and gear with me so if it works out I'll plug the Iron Horse into the GPS and see you around the campfire. :toast:

Don, what are the plans for routine service while at STC? If I bring the stuff, can I do an oil change? And more importantly, can someone show me how to do this? I saw it done once but wasn't paying attention. I'd really like to do the whole thing myself with an experienced advisor guiding me.

I talked with Joe earlier today. It's not looking good for on-time repairs to Bill's LT, but we'll see. The three (or four) of us may be able to ride down together if schedules can get synced up. Joe has promised to take it easy on us old guys, but he also promised to let us benefit from his Valentine 1...

I will not be attending STC this year as initially planned. I've sent Howard and Glen in my place. :)

The LT is still at the dealers service for an ABS modulator. I think they've ordered the part from a distant planet. As of tomorrow (thursday) it's been there for 2 weeks. There just doesn't seem to be any sense of urgency on their part. The new tires are on it though.

This is my first experience with motorcycle service and I'm surprised at the extreme difference between motorcycle and cage service departments. Even if the part wasn't in stock, the cage would have been repaired within a few days tops.

Anyway, y'all have a great time and be safe.

OK NOW I'M EXCITED!!

A couple of days makes all the difference. Took the wife for her Dr. appointment this afternoon and he gave her a clean bill of health. That, in itself is wonderful news, but it also means that I get to take off for the weekend. Just for insurance the daughter and grandson are coming up to stay with the wife for the weekend. So, guess where I'm headed. Yep, Iron Horse here I come. I got out my 20 year old tent and set it up in the yard and it looks like it should make it through at least one more weekend. Put it, a sleeping bag and some clothes in the cargo trailer and hooked it up to the Lt. I plan to leave here tomorrow morning and if luck holds out should arrive Iron Horse mid afternoon. Save me a CBS. See ya'll tomorrow!!

Well Dad, I won't be coming 'home' this spring. When my bud Jim Bain asked for a show of hands to hep out at his Cape Fear 1000 Rally my right hand shot up. If I can afford the toll for the fall get together I'll be there...Oh yeah, I'm in need of a cheerleader for a MTF/IBA ride; the 'Sunrise 2 Sunset' in mid July.
