Riding to work today, and riding to Ken Meese's open house tomorrow in Oxnard. PCH should be clear of traffic, and the winds and rain we had recently cleaned up the air so the visibility is fantastic.

The weather citizen on TV is saying that it is going to be sunny on New Years day up here in Washington state. I'll take it. My wife an I will head out as soon as the threat of early morning ice is gone.

It counts more if you live north of 47 degrees.

I hate it that you guys are going to miss us :histerica

Have you looked at the forecast for tomorrow? COLD!!! Since I have lived only in warm climates I own very few pieces of warm riding gear. Emily has a Gerbings vest, thats it. So we are going to stay in and warm.

An second thought maybe we come up in the car...Depends how much bubbly we have to drink tonight.

Happy New Year to all of you! Stay safe!

Man, it got up to 79 degrees out there today. By the time I made my deliveries in Wimberley, New Braunfels and got back home I was soaked under the MotoGP pants....without the liner.

I've been under the weather some and a good ride on a nice day sure helped.

Used to live down on Padre Island, near Corpus. Spent a lot of time in Bandera. Really miss Texas but family responsibilities are keeping me here in the Northwest.

We hit almost 45 degrees today and I got in about 3 hours of riding. Just here and there. Sunshine at this time of year is a gift. I am worried about driving on dry roads however. All that friction must do something to the tires.

Just drove I-25 back home from Cheyenne. It'd been close due to snow drifts, high winds and icy conditions for better part of past 24 hours. We made it - but once again, thankful for 4 wheel drive.

Still have just this side of a foot of snow in the yard - roads are hard packed ice. I don't think I could get my LT down the driveway to the street let alone anyplace else.

So, I'll sit here tonite and tomorrow in front of the fire with my family and a cold one and salute the new year while think'n about you bastiges that live in warmer climes. :thumb:

Watch out for the whakos!

I had to get out today as well. Made my way up to Lynchburg, said hi to Jack Daniels and found some new roads up in the hills behind the distillery to ride. Great day as it topped out at 52 degrees! Happy New year!

Zotter..you have to be in the cold to keep the penguins happy. I , on the other hand, only raise lizards, so I get to ride on 70 degree New Years Eve days. ( tomorrow will be a little warmer :D )

But, if it gives you any consolation, the BMW Guardian Angel did not keep up with me as, although I was riding today, It was on the way to a friend's mother's funeral.

On the way, when I stopped to confirm the address, my battery could not handle the drain of all the lights, no motor running, so I had a dead battery.

Luckily, after a 5 minute wait and a quick key turn and starter button hit, it came to life.

Charger is on it now for tomorrow's ride, new battery on Wednesday.

I feel it is my loyal duty to ride, and ride on, when those of my frozen comrades can not. :bike:

Well we got out for a short ride this afternoon. 38' degrees at 2:00 this afternoon, and about 39' on the return leg at around 4:30. Then we did the oil drain on Art's Bike, changed out all three fluids (Engine, X-msn, & Rear Drive) over a brewski before I finally stepped out into the 32' weather for the real short ride home. Frost on the windshield & saddle, but the road was dry!

Not even cool enough on a short ride for the grip heat. But we did use that seat heat! Nice!!

And yes we are going for a ride on the first day of the New Year, but not an early ride!!

Happy New Year everyone,

John

The only thing I rode today was the snowblower, spent 4hrs. moving the 12+" of snow we got last nite and now it's blowing into 2-3 foot drifts:( Oh, the joys of winter, so I guess I'll just sit around with a coke and a cigar and watch some football, unless mommy has a better idea;) , nah never happen, so I guess it's football.:p

Happy New Year!!!!!, everyone

Me and Don rode yesterday for a little over a 100 miles, had pasta and pizza, only trouble we had was that Don caused my HID low beam to go on the fritz!!!!!

Temps were in the low 50's but the sun was out and had a great short ride.

Watching football, football and more football today.

Go VOLS!

Went up to the summit of 17 back down Old San Jose Road then down Hwy 1 past Bixbee bridge ... not all the way to Big Sur as wind was blowing hard off the ocean. Temp mostly around 47 then somewhat nicer as the morning progressed. Only 100 miles or so.
